In 2021, we had the pleasure of working with clients who had recently purchased a large barn conversion. While the property had plenty of potential, the existing bathrooms were lacklustre and in need of a complete overhaul. Our team at RVB worked closely with the clients to transform their bathrooms and create a stunning steam shower room, resulting in three spaces that perfectly combined luxury and functionality.
For the house bathroom, our brief was to design a tranquil and relaxing space that offered a true escape from the outside world.
We approached the design with a focus on natural elements, incorporating warm, natural oak slats with black felt for the short wall of the sloping ceiling, which added texture and depth to the space.
To enhance the natural feel, we chose beautiful alabaster-effect porcelain tiles and matte stone ceramic and installed a sleek wetroom shower and black matte brassware for a pop of interest. The crowning feature of this room was the stone bath, which we designed to sit centre stage, creating a true sanctuary for our clients to unwind.
The master suite was a larger project, consisting of a bathroom and separate shower room, with the clients desiring a steam room to be integrated into the design.
The original shower room was dark and unwelcoming with no natural light, but with a few design tweaks, it became the perfect space for a seated steam room with bespoke steam door.
We also installed a mirrored window that not only offered breathtaking views of the garden and surrounding countryside from the steam room, but also served as a full-length mirror for the dressing room. In the master bathroom, we used stunning Calacatta Amber Honed Marble tiles, with their warm milk-white background and amber veins, to create a luxurious and inviting ambiance. We complemented the tiles with brushed gold brassware and neutral furniture, creating a soft and inviting space that perfectly matched our clients’ vision.
